5 things to do in Seattle during the Winter

Seattle is a great place to live, but let's be honest, most of us spend our winters sitting on the couch. I struggle as much as anyone in knowing what to do to cure the winter blues.

Here are 5 of my favorite things to do:

1) Visit Pike Place Market - Unlike a trip to the mall, this is no heated adventure. You're gonna want a good coat as you visit local shops, which are way less crowded than during the peak tourist months. Learn more here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/pike-place-market-seattle

2) Take a hike - The mountains aren't great for hiking this time of year unless you're the snowshoeing type, but a short stroll somewhere like Discovery Park is always fun. Learn more here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/discovery-park-seattle

3) Pacific Science Center - It's a science and educational museum, and it's a ton of fun, even for adults! Learn more here: http://www.pacificsciencecenter.org/

4) Crossroads Mall - Unless you're from the Eastside, you're probably not familiar with this fun little mall. If you go on a Saturday night, you're likely to find all sorts of gamers playing anything from Chess to Dungeons and Dragons. The food court is amazing! place! Here you can even find restaurants serving Indian, Russian, and Vietnamese cuisine. Not bad for the mall food court. I recommend grabbing a bite to eat and just people-watching the night away. For info on having your photo taken with photo check out this link:

5) Take a trip to Leavenworth - Ok, so this isn't actually anywhere near Seattle! If you've watched a Hallmark Christmas movie in your lifetime you will fill right at home in Leavenworth. This small town is a charm, and in the winter they really turn up the heat. There are a ton of fun winter and holiday themed activities available in Leavenworth.
